Soft
Androgyne:That's what I am!
Steel magnolia type? Strong Femme? Soft Androgyne? I fall on all those
categories. In a ranking across the femme/butch gamut, if 1 is femme and
100 is butch, I fall between 41 and 47 on the scale.
For most of my life and social interaction, I don't really see myself as
either butch or femme, but if pressed into a corner, I react more femme
than butch. Friends always seek advice from me when it comes to humanity,
relationship, and love. Sometimes I help them solve their problems and
forget that I have mine. Sometimes I prefer to give aid; sometimes,
encourage my friends to stand on their own feet. I'm fairly well balanced
over all, with the occasional weakness I haven't quite yet conquered, to
wit, procrastination.
I am a humanistic learner. Learning is very crucial to me, as I am always
hungry for knowledge--arts and sciences alike. To me, knowledge is a key
to independence and freedom. I am a cup that is never filled. So I am very
open for other people's teachings, suggestions, and comments. Oftentimes,
I do self-teaching. I read a lot (and in a varied assortment of genres
ranging from old English & Thai literature-poetry to Web technology and
the origin of the Universe.) I enjoy cartoons as much as heavy psych
drama. Most of biographies and courtroom dramas bore me, though. I like
historical anecdotes but are not very good at memorizing dates. I have a
more general sense of time. A sense of memorizing directions? Forget it! I
always get lost. :-(
I am a sheer perfectionist. (Here is a
fun poem someone wrote about being the perfect man--not relevant, but I like it). In my opinion, home is the
place for everything and where everything is in place. Home is a roof as
well as a showplace. I always cook and am good at it. I eat out once
a week on Sunday. Gastronomy is among my various interests. I love snakes,
puppies, kitties, and, occasionally, hamsters but never have any of them.
Maybe soon. Becoming a vegan is what I have been trying to achieve but
still unsuccessful.
I like a fairly strong butch for a partner, along the lines of a Feminist
or Classic Butch, and take on other Androgynes as friends. Family is not
terribly important to me; I received a type of upbringing in which such was not the
primary, pivotal issue. I was taught taught that having a family is
like being in chain. I have an acceptable, generic but distant relation
with my family. Sometimes I am not in touch with them at all. Anyhow, I am
certain that I don't want to live with them unless I have to. I believe
that I share with Madonna the same belief (or grief?) regarding our fathers.
